Hazeltop update

Hazeltop Cave is awaiting a push at the current end of the cave, a nasty boulder choke with slabs of roof hanging off.  But the carrot is the 3 kilometres the cave still has to go to reach the rising at the top of Barbondale.  We will return in the  spring/summer when the weather is a bit warmer and enthusiam on the up!  It’s a long walk in the cold.

Meanwhile the entrance could do with a bit of TLC after a recent collapse of the roof just below the bottom of the scaffold shaft. An extra scaffold tube and some cementing will probably secure the large boulders which had fallen down onto the existing poles.
