What’s on

Caving Meets

The club holds regular organised caving meets, offering a mix of caves and potholes with varying degrees of difficulty, from easier trips for novices to more technical and challenging outings for the more experienced. All members are encouraged to volunteer to co-ordinate a club trip. Pick a date and venue to suit yourself, we will then advertise it below and email all members about it. Please contact the Meets Sec with any offers and suggestions.

For non-members who are new to caving, a place can be booked on the CNCC website here:

CNCC – Experience caving: Hosted by the Red Rose Cave and Pothole Club

If club members can help out on the day, please get in touch with a committee member.

Johnny B cordially invites all club members to come and help clear out Hazel Sike (near Aygill).

As a reward there will be communal food and a barrel available that evening, (donations welcome for digging fund)

Social Events

Social events are favourite get-togethers for all club members, caving or non-caving, young or old, there’s always an upcoming social gathering, from talks and slide shows, cakes and curry to fundraisers, bbqs and even a few fireworks. Join in the fun, and if you’d like to help out at a social event or suggest a new one, just contact Alice – she’ll be pleased to hear from you!

Please come along and help keep the Farm in good repair.

Please get in touch with Colin for more info.

What is the event?
– 10 days (2 weekends) where various entrances to the Easegill system on Casterton Fell will be rigged, similar to gaping gill winchmeets (but without a winch!)
– For this first year we’d like to invite club members and kindred clubs only to make sure we figure out how to run things smoothly
– We are intending to apply for a license to be able to sell beer and have people welcome to stay over the course of the event

More details to follow!

All are welcome to join Johnny, Tony & Dinny who will all be celebrating their 60th.

There will be barrels of beer, communal food, music, singing, dancing and perhaps even crockery cricket?

Any donations towards the beer will go towards the Digging Fund.

Johnny, Tony and Dinny will be around for the whole week, all members invited to come up and join them for as long or as little as you fancy. Depending on interest there may be some communal food arranged. There will also be three barrels of beer, while it lasts.

A club favourite whatever the weather. We love a good fire on a cold night and the chance to watch some fireworks.

Come along for a festive annual tradition where we enjoy the merry season with a winter walk in the Dales.
