Summary.
Since the completion of the survey no significant discoveries have
yet resulted. The allusive connecting passages to Lancaster Hole remain unentered, although their presence is becoming more
apparent as various minor discoveries continue to illustrate, To retire now,
following such persistent and dedicating work would be a regrettable mistake.
Progress has recently been made off an
inlet in the further reaches. This was an unexpected entry into an unstable but spacious chamber. A rubble decent led immediately
to a narrow stream passage, followed enthusiastically to an impenetrable choke.
An aven inlet in the main chamber was later climbed until its ascent terminated amongst cemented gravel, presumably
extending to the shake hole on the surface near the lime kiln.
Scaling and digging tactics were resumed
again in the new passage above the junction chambers, Once more the gods had
forsaken us and we gained little ground. On the return, however, a probable
high level passage was sighted above the boulder bridge. This may well
compensate for our previous thwarted attempts . . . . futuristic hopes run high once
