Club meet down Lanky to
Maple Leaf Passage. I had never been to the chamber at the end and decided the
time was right. I went up the crawl at the end with DAZ behind and the rest
following. We climbed up into the first chamber and on into a larger one above.
The passage was leading back to Cape Kennedy with a draught. Phil caught us up
and tried to get through but it was too tight and needs a bar to loosen the
floor. Then Phil spotted a crawl going north. After about 20 feet he was
shouting, “A big chamber!”
We followed and the
chamber was about 15 feet diameter, going up beyond our light beams. On the
other side was a rift with water coming out of a passage about 25 feet up.
There were no marks or bolts on it. Someone had scratched EPC 71 on the wall
but no other footprints!
