Or rather underneath Paris. Setting off from London on Friday night on Eurobus,
we headed for a weekend in the catacombs of Paris. I was joining members of WSG, who had done
the trip before. Entry into the tunnels is via a disused railway tunnel in the
South of Paris, allowing access to 300km of tunnels, of which we did about
20km. We visited the famous Beach, the new projection room with fantastic
murals, the German Bunker and resistance shelters, and of course the bones. Millions of bones. Exit was vi a
manhole in the middle of Paris:
the idea is to come out and blend in, trying not to burn the locals with the
carbide lamp, or stinking out the metro as you head back to Gare
de Nord to get changed.
Well worth a visit!
