CAPTAIN’S
LOG.... STARDATE 24th Nov. 1973
We have gone into orbit around the planet ‘Pen-y-Ghent. Cafe’, and are about to break out to fly at warp 9 to Sell Gill Holes. Our mission is to boldly go where no man has gone before.
The stream is very high and it looks, like the 150’ wet pitch will be hard work. Frank, Hodge and Lieutenant. Uhura (cleverly disguised as Diane) go down the dry way. Myself, Spock Llewellyn, Bones Wilkinson and Scotty Ellwood will attempt the wet way. The pitch is rigged and Bones is ready to beam down. Soon he is out of sight. The only connection with our comrade is oral, and we can tell he doesn't like this water. Scotty beams down next and at a request to speed up he merely replies, “I canna give it any morr, Captain Kirrrk, Iv'e got warp 9 already, the damage will be irrrrreperrrrrable” (The author assures me that this is Scotty’s dialect.... Ed.) I descend through the water and arrive drenched at the bottom, being flashed with phasor 2 flashguns. Spock is lined on the double line but the line jams. I shout up, “Come on down, you useless pillock”, eand he answers, “Illogical, I can only re-ascend”.
Hodge and I
rush out the dry way, run down to the top of the 150’ and beam Spock up. He
then re-descends on the end of the line and we beam Frank up and then Spock
ascends. (Pete would like it to be known that he is the only person on the
party to go down and come up the pitch)
The wet way is then de-laddered. Frank and Spock go back down the dry way. Hodge
and myself coil up tackle from the big pitch Johnny and Danny beam out the dry
way and we return to the ‘Enterprise’. Some time
later, Uhura, Frank and Pete return with some cock
and bull story of having been pushing some passage or other. I wonder what my
crew is up to behind my back, is it mutiny?....

Kirk)
