Boxing Day Walk – 26 Dec 2024

This year’s annual gathering will be a circular walk taking in Giggleswick /Scar and surrounds.

We will be meeting at the Council roadstone layby on the summit of Buckhaw Brow ( B6480 ) on the road towards Giggleswick at the earlier time of 10.30am. We will walk along Giggleswick Scar which has many small cave entrances, which could take us some time, before dropping down to the hamlet of Slack House, then up the Ribble valley towards Stainforth, heading then up hill towards the Celtic Wall and Dead Mans Cave before returning to our cars on Buckhaw Brow summit.

The reason we start earlier this year is to arrive at our meal stop before 4pm latest, as this is the
latest the new owners of the Helwith Bridge Inn will provide food. The pub will again be offering a full menu, but on a pre-order only basis, details of which are attached. For those who require food, please send me your menu choices together with payment, before the event.
