We set off on Friday night for Wales
and camped by the side of the road outside Crickhowell, meeting the rest of the
party early the next morning. Fourteen of us went off to OFD where
we had a small altercation with the South Wales Caving Club before finally
being given a guided caving trip. It seemed to me like a poorly lit White Scar
Caves. The next day we were joined by a few others, bringing our numbers to
eighteen, and went down "Aggy".
After a consultation with Brian Maxwell
of the Chelsea, we decided on a round trip through Turkey Pool, Sand Caverns,
and back down Coal Cellar Passage. A nice pleasant trip we thought, which would
get us out for opening time. How wrong can you be. Everything went fine until
the junction of Coal Cellar Passage but from that point on it just got tighter
and trickier. We eventually all got out at eight o'clock after very
sporting trip!
